How to Find the Path to Your Destiny

How to Find the Path to Your Destiny

$22.99

“Dana Marie Rivas was born in Washington, D.C. on March 19th, 1978 and grew up in Fort Washington, MD. She graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in May 2000. She is the middle child in a family of three girls. The inspiration for this book came one day while I was on my lunch break at work, chatting with an old friend. It seemed she and I both – and another friend of hers were all going through a mid-life crisis at only 26 years of age. We didn’t feel the satisfaction and purpose we thought we were supposed to feel at this point… having “made it” by the worlds standards. We all wanted to quit and run away to go live and volunteer in a remote village somewhere on the other side of the world…thinking that maybe this would give us the satisfaction and sense of purpose and passion we were missing. After analyzing this for some time, I realized that we felt let down and bamboozled by lies and false promises that main stream society and our families pass on to us growing up unknowingly. The false promise that if we study hard and get prestigious jobs or make allot of money that this is what leads to happiness and a feeling of success and personal fulfillment in life. I realized that this isn’t true and I discovered what was missing. I wrote this book to help others identify the lies and false promises that they are/may have fallen for, and to lead others to their truth through journal exercises.Contact the author to share your comments: danamarierivas@gmail.com”

Birds in My Mustard Tree: How to Grow Your Faith

$10.99

“Birds in My Mustard Tree is a six-week small group study that looks at the subject of faith as an active, growing part of our walk with God. This study begins with a review of the concept of faith that leads to lessons on exercising faith, amazing faith, shattered faith, resting in faith, and a stronger faith. The author examines several heroes of faith in the Bible and adds modern anecdotes along with her personal stories to make this process result in a solid faith in God. Faith may begin as a mustard seed, but the goal is to expand it until we have birds roosting on our mustard tree of faith.”

How Big Is Your God?

How Big Is Your God?

$17.99

“How Big Is Your God? Is He big enough? The great life lesson we should pass on to others is that of having confidence in a God who is big enough for whatever life brings-being tired of eating bologna, having a daughter run away from home, being accused of stealing ministry funds, driving the tan van that wouldn’t die, and much more. The Robinsons’ memoirs illustrate God’s bigness and faithfulness through over forty years of children’s ministry in western Canada. What they said…”It’s kind of hard to express thanks to someone who changed my life and way of thinking. I’ve never grown as much in the Lord as when I had you both as an example and guide as a Christian team willing to serve each other and the Lord.” Walter Selke (Healing Hearts Ministry, Regina)”I can’t begin to explain what you’ve meant to me. As my spiritual father, you’ve disciplined me; as my leader, you’ve led me; and as my teacher, you’ve taught me. But most of all, you have been my friend.” Don Cameron (Yellowknife)”It sure was good to see someone so dedicated to God’s work. Thanks for the example.” Dave Bunn (missionary, France)”The Lord has used you in my life to change me and teach me many things. I have greatly appreciated you and just how God chooses to use you the way He does.” Rod Nikkel (saddle tree maker and church elder)”I don’t know how to tell you how much you mean to me. You have helped me grow so much in my Christian life over the years, and I am very grateful to you.” Diane Krause”Thank you so much for loving us counselors and praying for us. What a precious summer this has been Thank you for teaching us the importance of having faith in the facts of God’s Word.” Dorothy Reid (missionary, Romania)”It has been one of the best summers I’ve spent working under you both. It has been an experience that won’t be soon forgotten. Our God’s pretty big ” Seaweed (camp nickname)About the Author: Jerry & Connie Robinson have worked in a variety of children’s ministries in western Canada for over forty years. From fifteen dozen eggs to 4500 postage stamps, the Robinsons seek to share their experiences of a big God at work during the challenges of ministry and family life. Between the Menorah and the Fever Tree

Between the Menorah and the Fever Tree

$9.99

Between the Menorah and the Fever Tree ‘‘…Fear has not been kind to me. It has stalked me from the time I first remember, making no due allowance for the enthusiasms of youth nor tempering its ways in adulthood. But being of an exacting nature and trusting of rational thought, I was determined in the days and nights ahead of me to understand how disquiet had come to find such comfortable residence in my person. I would have to think long and hard if I was to do so…’’ This opening paragraph establishes the framework for a bildungsroman set in the Rhodesia and South Africa of the 1960s and 1970s. We are listening in on the thoughts of the main character, a scion of Russian Jewish immigrants, whom we eventually come to know as Chungle. He is reflecting upon things while sitting on a wooden bench facing the wind and the Atlantic Ocean spray. Now an adult, Chungle is on a visit to Cape-Town after a long exile in America and he is wondering about the tribulations of youth spent in these parts. He is soon about to undertake a car journey through the vast Karoo desert to surprise his former best friend Jake, whom he has not seen in decades, and who is mourning a recent tragic loss. He recalls how Jake once possessed the ability to charm the wind out of its heavenly lair with his simple crooked grin and fears that time might now have changed all of that. Alternately uproarious and touching Between the Menorah and the Fever Tree follows the story of Chungle and friends who find themselves permanent outsiders in the world around. It weaves a narrative with universal appeal, about family, identity, friendship and love, set against a backdrop of political and cultural upheaval.
